The Arab Federation for Human Rights (AFHR) is greatly concern about the welfare and security of Yemeni lawyer Abdel Aziz Qassem Saleh who’s residence was recently subjected to a grenade attack by unknown assailants. Abdel Aziz Qassem Saleh was a member of the Fact-Finding Commission on the Truth of Prisons in Aden and Lahj Governorates last year. The Arab Federation for Human Rights affirms its full solidarity with the lawyer in his struggle and the performance of his mission in defending human rights, supporting the oppressed, participating in the achievement of justice and establishing the principle of sovereignty in Yemen.
On Wednesday evening, unknown assailants threw a grenade at the house of the lawyer Abdul Aziz Qassem Saleh. Witnesses said the bomb occurred next to the house in the Khobar area of Al-Bala’a.
The Arab Federation for Human Rights expresses its strong condemnation of this criminal incident and considers this statement as a communication to the Yemeni authorities represented by the Ministry of the Interior in the Yemeni legitimate government and the relevant authorities and demand that they promptly arrest and prosecute the perpetrators of this cruel act and bring them to justice. They should equally ensure the safety and security of lawyer Abdul Aziz Qassem Saleh and his family.
The Arab Federation for Human Rights also urges Arab and international human rights organizations and appeal to them in solidarity with the lawyer Abdul Aziz Qassem.
